Installing Peel and Stick Floral Wallpaper in my Daughter’s Bedroom

Sharing is caring!

My daughter’s bedroom makeover which has taken forever is FINALLY almost done.  I just added a peel and stick floral wallpaper accent which adds SO much to the space.  I partnered with ONDECOR.com for this project and I’m so, so happy about it.  They were super nice to work with, very easy and affordable for really high quality wallpaper.

Disclaimer: ONDECOR.com provided me with most of the wallpaper for this, but all my opinions are my own.

This was a relatively easy install because the walls are just rectangular and it was only about three feet tall.  The best part was the quality of the wallpaper.  This makes a huge difference!  I’ve installed cheaper wallpaper and it is so much harder because it ends up sticking to itself and getting wrinkles that you can’t get rid of.  But this wallpaper went on like buttah.  I was able to do it all in a few hours.  The hardest part was lining it up because I didn’t have an overlap allowance which makes it a little easier but still doable when it’s a flush line.

I love this peel and stick floral wallpaper, it really made the room come alive and feel more put together.  It was the missing element of the space.  And it helps to tie a lot of the colors together.  The best part about this pattern is that since it’s quite busy, there were several spots that the pattern did not align at all and you really have to stare for awhile to pick it out.  I did cut around the pattern to help it overlap a little more naturally.

The ordering process on ondecor.com was very simple.  And if you want to see a sample, you can also purchase that for a low price.  I recommend getting the larger sample if you’re on the fence because the smaller sample was a little hard to tell because it was just too small.  Especially because the pattern I chose had a wide variety of floral variations and the sample didn’t even include the main color I was hoping to match.  But the wallpaper was affordable and was shipped pretty quickly.  Overall, probably 8/10 experience.  The actual wallpaper was 10/10.

The only tools I needed for this project was a plastic paint scraper and a box cutter.  The paint scraper helps to smooth out air bubbles and wrinkles and then I use it to push the paper into the line where the wall and ceiling meet so I could then cut off the excess with the box cutter (same with the spot where the board and batten begins.)  It’s definitely trickier to go around doors, but honestly not that bad.  I recommend this wallpaper to anyone wanting to add a little pop to a space.  It makes a HUGE impact and it definitely easier than you might think.

I have just a few things left to do in this space before I’m 100% done.  I need to purchase some foam for a window seat which my mother-in-law is going to help me with, then add some shelf lighting and a few other accents and wall decor.  But the big things are mainly done!  My daughter has been bugging me for months to finish her room so I think she is over the moon about this being all completed.
