*******
This is Rebecca: The Original Pin-head.
If you’ve followed me for awhile, you probably know her. She was my very first Etsy/blogger buddy. She opened up her fantastic shop Better Life Bags about the same time as I did so we helped each other figure out the whole world of selling on Etsy. Along the way we formed a great friendship and so I was super excited when she asked me to help her with the Pinterest Challenge!
She is the brains behind the challenge–the first I’ve seen to come up with the idea. (It’s genius, is it not?) She ran the first round by herself from her blog but wanted to expand it to include more categories and other bloggers.
But enough about that, you’ve got to really see what Rebecca does best: her bags!!
She hand-makes each bag with her super sewing skills from a wide variety of designer fabrics. Then after a purchase is made, she works with a company called Kiva.org to donate a portion of her sales to entrepreneuers in third-world countries. Isn’t that amazing? Here’s some of her work:
This is a bag she made for ME! (The middle one.) I just had to show you first. 🙂
But I really love this black and white one too!! She has all sorts of add-ons, like flowers, buttons, zippers, etc. Basically anything you can think up! She is very willing to customize.
I also am loving this gift set: The Frieda clutch and Maggie hobo bag. I love that color combo!
Anyway, you need to check out her shop to see more of the wonderful bags she makes. She also does a super-fun blog, displaying even more of her talents in the area of home DIY, crafting, mothering, and whatever else!
I LOVE what she did with the broken glass from when her car got broken into. Leave it to Rebecca to turn a crappy situation into a craft, haha!
And she is also one of the main sponsors for the Great Pinterest Challenge!!
She is donating 3 $25 gift certificates to her shop AND one custom bag (each going to different categories.)
Do you have a Home Decor/DIY Pinterest-inspired project to enter in the challenge? Email Rebecca with your entry!
