Disney Imagicademy Party
We had a Disney Imagicademy party last week to celebrate the launch of Disney’s new app Mickey’s Magical Math World! I invited nearly all of my 6-year-old’s friends and I think we ended up with almost 20 kids at my house. It was insanity! But so much fun.
I set up the table, complete with Disney themed snacks and cute Disney themed snack names. “Goofy Grapes” and “Hot Diggety Dogs”…”Minnie Mix” and “Cheese and Quackers” and more. To make the cards I bought chalkboard cardstock and made little holders for them. I simply wrote in chalk on them!
I was provided with all sorts of fun goodies for our guests in the bags–a couple of Disney puzzles, a notepad, crayons, and markers. I stuffed them in some red bags and used them as part of the backdrop. I also used crepe paper and balloons in red, black, and white and polka dots.
I also purchased some large white tablecloths awhile ago to use for entertaining and they come in handy for these things. Makes the table look so much nicer than just using a plastic one taped on–plus I layered it with a red tablecloth on top to hide stains.
The food was easy enough–grapes, melons, cheese and crackers, little half hot dogs wrapped in croissant dough, my ‘Minnie Mix’ (made from cheesy popcorn, pretzels and Valentine’s M&Ms), chips, and some little candies in the back. I also made Mickey-shaped sugar cookies with frosting for the kids to decorate.
While some of the kids decorated cookies, I took the others upstairs to play the Mickey’s Magical Math World app. We used the Apple TV to project the app from the ipad to the TV so everyone could watch and then take their turn playing and trying it out.
They loved it! They loved creating a space ship and flying it around, answering the right questions to move up a level. It was a hit and the app is so fun. It is so expansive that we still haven’t discovered all the different games to play on it yet.
We can’t wait to get Mickey’s Magical Art World app which comes out February 12. It is full of different games that let you create your own characters, play music, draw and illustrate new characters, and so much more. My kids are very interested in creativity, and obviously I am as well, so this is an app that we can all enjoy.
Disney Imagicademy is full of great ways to get your kids to be creative, learn, and use their imagination. Disney Imagicademy Parents is another separate app that connects parents with the Imagicademy community whose goal is to help parents come up with ways to help their children grow and learn. And it also connects parents with the progress their children are making on the Math and Art World apps so they can see their creations. These apps are both amazing and worth downloading (and they are free!)
It’s fun to throw a party for your kids–especially in the winter–just for fun!

Looks cute and fun! You know I have a 6 year old. How come we’re never invited to these sweet parties!?!
Sorry! There are too many friends and I already had a zillion people there! But I will have to do one sometime with your boys. 🙂
