Gold and Peach Votives
Wedding season is almost upon us, and I have a super cute and easy wedding DIY for you! I’m so into the colors peach and gold right now and I love everything with a little sparkle, so I thought a great craft using these elements would be glittery gold and peach votives!
Aren’t they so cute? You could make these in a huge variety of colors, whatever you choose for your wedding. Or you could use them for a shower, a party, or even a romantic evening in!
How cute would these be in blue for a Frozen themed party? The possibilities are endless.
Supplies:
- Americana Peach Silk
- Americana Gold
- DecoArt Glamour Dust in crystal and gold
- Paint brushes
- Glass votive holders
- Tape (optional)
So first I cleaned the votives well and rubbed them with a paper towel. Then I taped the upper third of the glass. However, I learned that with the gold, the tape just took off the paint and glitter, so I started over and just used a paintbrush to paint the lower 2/3rds of the votive holder.
I painted two coats of each candle holder, three in peach and three in gold.
Before the second coat had dried, I shook a generous coating of glamour dust over the painted portion–clear over peach, gold over gold–over a paper plate to save the whatever spilled off.
That’s it! Just spray it with a sealer (like a polycrylic spray) and you are good to go! Add in some little votive candles and light them for your event. Such a cute little detail.
I also took some old silverware and dipped it straight into the paint bottle and let it dry overnight. Another easy peasy wedding idea and how cute would these be with the glimmer dust on them as well?!
