5 Games to Play with Candy
Summer is approaching and that means lots of hours with your kids. Lots of hours where they need entertainment. Something we tried today turned out to be super fun and easy–a great combo. All we needed was a couple bags of Twizzlers Twists and a bag of Hershey Kisses. And we came up with five games to play with these two candies.
Twiz-Tac-Toe: This is the easiest game, perfect for young kids. Just lay out your Tic-Tac-Toe grids using Twizzlers Twists like this and use Hershey Kisses as X’s and O’s.
Pass the Parcel: Wrap some type of candy (we used a bag of Pull N Peel Twizzlers) in newspaper or wrapping paper, over and over and over. Then everyone sits in a circle and starts taking turns rolls two die, hoping to get doubles.
If you get doubles, you put on a few things like oven mitts, a winter hat and scarf or funny hat or wig or whatever. Then you use a couple of wooden spoons to start trying to unwrap the package. Then you must pass it to whoever gets doubles next. You could make this easier for smaller kids by eliminating the stuff they put on or the spoons.
Candy Jenga: Build a Jenga tower with Twizzlers Pull N Peel cut in half. We used the Pull-n-Peel variety because it’s thicker and closer to the size of the actual blocks. Then take turns pulling out candy and keeping the tower intact.
Pick-up Twiz: Put lots of Twizzlers Twists inside a big, tall cup. Shake it and dump it out on the table.
Chocolate Checkers: Make a checker board by laying Twizzlers Twists out on top of each other. Then use two different colors of Hershey Kisses as the checkers. Play in the traditional way.
My kids thought I was the funnest mom ever after doing these few games with them. It was only about a half hour of my time but it sure filled their love bucket! And bonus–who doesn’t love Twizzlers and Hershey chocolate, I know my kids do.
