Challenge End!
It is February 15th…the Valentine’s Day Challenge is over! And did I succeed? Not in the true challenge, which was to do a craft a day for 14 days. But I did succeed in pushing myself to create more, and I am left with a lot more decorations for Valentine’s Day. I also realized that it is kind of a pain to force yourself to create. I hate that crafting kind of became a chore, something that I HAD to do versus something I wanted to do. And truthfully, it became a thing that was a nuisance, another thing to ‘check off’ on my busy to-do list. And I surely didn’t need another thing on my to-do. I tried out this recipe for soft sugar cookies…and they turned out VERY soft. But I had to bake them for less time than she called for, my first batch got a little burned. I wrapped a few of them in red cellophane to give to the girls in my church class. Cute huh?And here are my sewn Valentine’s cards. I just sewed on some fabric, some of the hearts I stuffed to be a little poofy. Easy peasy, and I love the simplicity!
My sister did the challenge with me, and I think she had about the same results: didn’t quite make it every day, but gave it the old college try. Here are a few of hers:
And this yummy dessert…a chocolate eclair ring with strawberries. She loves to make desserts since she has a husband and 4 (almost 5!) kids to gobble them up.
So now Valentine’s Day has passed, and I am ready to start up doing my weekly blog plan. Stay tuned for some juicy posts!
