Better Life Bags
I’m still new to the craft blog world, and as you can see, I haven’t been as hard-core about pursuing followers. But I would love them, and will soon be doing a giveaway to encourage you to follow me!
It is essential in the craft blog/etsy shop world to make connections with others like you. One person, whom I have actually never met in the flesh, has been a great friend-mentor to me and we try to help each other out. She has promoted my shop on her blog and now it’s my turn. But I would have anyway, because her shop is really, truly, awesome!!!
It’s called Better Life Bags. Why better life? Because part of her proceeds goes to Kiva.org who helps entrepreneurs in third-world countries. That is such a freaking great idea, because we’re not just throwing money at the poor, you are enabling them to make a living and boost their economy! The whole ‘teach a man to fish’ concept, you dig?
Anyway, her bags are beautiful and VERY well-made. I am jealous of her sewing abilities.I mean seriously, look at that craftsmanship. These are so well-crafted. And how awesome that you can even customize the fabric according to the samples she has in her shop! I love this bag she repurposed from kitchen towels…and it’s only $25!
Are you so bored with your checkbook? She even sews checkbook covers that you can get on their own or get to match your bag.
She also does a few extra non-bag items, like these adorable baby bibs, repurposed from button-down shirts. It’s so inventive and ‘green’ of her to re-use all this stuff.
Go check out her shop and tell her that Heidi from Honeybear Lane sent you! Also, you can read her cute blog Better Life Blog. She shares little tidbits from her life as well as new ideas, crafts, and a fun story about ‘birthing a bag.’
Thanks for the post Heidi! You're so sweet 🙂 I refer to you all the time as "my blog friend"!
