How to Do the Dishes
“How to Do the Dishes if You are a Young Mom”
Step 1: Start with an empty dishwasher. If there are clean dishes in it, put them away.
Step 2: Clear toy train out of the kitchen after you’ve already tripped over it four or five times.
Step 3: Clear table.
Step 4: Try not to be too depressed with how much food your kid wasted
Step 5: Rinse dishes in sinkStep 6: Load dishes into the dishwasher; reserve space for 247 sippy cups/lids
Step 7: Put away leftover food and wonder why they haven’t invented long skinny tupperwares for things like asparagus or corn on the cob.
Step 8: Wash countertops and in the process of scraping off hardened sugar cookie dough off the kitchen walls, notice how long it’s been since you’ve washed the backsplash area…but leave it for another day after realizing how much your back hurts from being pregnant.
Step 9: Wonder where on earth to put the giant bag of flour that has been sitting in the middle of your tiny kitchen for two days. Still wondering…
Step 10: Call it good enough and leave the detailed work for another day.
I love this. So true- except that my first step is to beg/guilt/bribe my husband into emptying the dishwasher for me. I am too short to reach some places, and too pregnant to bend over enough for other places. At least that is what I tell him when he is home to help. He never once wonders how it magically gets done when he isn't home. I love him. . .
oh honey,bless you for this..
And i to think that i was beating myself up for all those things that i have been missing around the house too..
