The Biggest Dork Ever
I am loving reading everyone’s descriptions of the person they were in middle school.
Seems like a lot of you felt awkward (umm….yes.)
Straight from my yearbook: Classic awkward dancing of the middle schooler (that’s not me, by the way.) |
Some of you said you were tall, but I bet that really you were just normal and everyone else was short! A lot of you admitted to being geeky, glasses & braces, quiet, shy, etc. And some of you said
‘I NEVER wanna go back!’
Jr. High was actually a fun couple of years for me. But let me tell you right now…I was THE. BIGGEST. DORK. EVER. And since you were honest with me, I want to reward you with these hilarious pictures:
6th Grade…I think I wore that shirt like every day. Frizzed out perm, don’t know how to do my hair. HUGE glasses! |
8th Grade: Life got a little better looking when I got contacts. Except for the Carol Brady hairdo. Note the overalls! My friend and I were talking about overalls and she was sad to admit she wore them in college… |
9th Grade: This must have been right before I got braces which I had for two years. |
The reason it was fun was because I was a dork (as I still kind of am) but I didn’t care. I had a little group of friends and we did things like this:
This was for our superhero movie: I am on the lower right side…’Madam Moonboots.’ This was the most awesome getup ever. I wish the picture would have scanned in color…hot pink shirt with some costume leotard, black and pink biker shorts, pink moonboots, and that’s a garter on my leg?? |
So yes. Jr. High/Middle school was awkward and pretty hideous. But it was kind of awesome at the same time. And I think we can all agree on one thing…
We’re glad it’s over.

Love this!!!
And yes i am definitely glad my middle school years are over, but I definitely learned so much in that time! I don't think I would have changed a thing..even the awkward and embarrassing moments.
You are so brave for sharing those captured moments with us!:D
I think we had the same group of friends! I swear I have a picture similar to that last one of me and my "dorky" friends from growing up. You are not alone!
Oh boy. Middle school=my "fat" stage. Just one word: torment!! But like others have said, I wouldn't trade those experiences for the world.
P.S. Adorable blog!! And thank you for the sweet compliments that you left on mine!
what a funny post! Even funnier is I totally remember that girl like yesterday, oh I love it!
I think you look nice in those pictures, actually. You don't need me to tell you what a colossal nerdbag I was in jr. high/high school.
DEFINITELY glad it's over. But I would go back to elementary school in a hotbeat.
