Happy Halloween Charlie Brown!!
So tomorrow is Halloween…more or less. We’re staying in on Sunday, so it’s Halloween for us. And my costume isn’t done. I’m feeling totally uninspired to finish it because I kind of think it’s lame. But it’s too late to change what I’m doing so I’m just going to have to find a way to make it work, as Tim would suggest.
But I was proud of last year’s costumes. I didn’t have this blog last Halloween, so now I have the chance to show all of you my costumes from last year so you can ooh and aah them.
You know these lovable characters?
I wanted to be Lucy from “It’s the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown”… after all, “you should always select a costume that is in direct contrast with your personality.” I made my mask from paper mache, something I hadn’t done since like 2nd grade. And the hat from that stiff felt stuff. Oh man, was that mask comfortable to wear! Oh wait…not so much, actually. Plus I barely wore it the whole night. But it was a fun costume!
My favoritest thing was my adorable Charlie Brown. He obviously couldn’t cover his face so I just made his ‘holey’ ghost costume and he still was super cute. I miss that little baby face!
(These pictures are super blurry because I had to retrieve them from my Facebook since my hard drive crashed.)
So I guess we’ll have to see if I can pull off this year’s costume.
Happy Halloween!

I LOVE these costumes!!! That mask is amazing! I'm a Peanuts fanatic… in fact one of my first blog posts ever was about my love of Peanuts. Cute idea.
Can you give me instructions on how you made that mask and hat? email is cnwidner@gmail.com
I made the form for the mask out of cereal box cardboard and used paper mache to bulk it up and add form to the eyes and mouth. Then I painted it green, and painted the eyes and added elastic. The hat was made out of stiff red felt. They were definitely not comfortable at all but it was for one night right? Good luck! 🙂
Do you remember how you made the nose? Did you also use paper mache?
I'm excited for your costume! I hope you can find that inspiration you need. And if you need anything, just call. 🙂
That mask is AWESOME! I have never actually seen that movie, but I love Charlie Brown, and I think you totally pulled that one off.
Great job!
