Help Me Reach 2000! (and other items of business)
My blogging journey is still young, even though it feels like it’s been a long time. I feel like I’ve worked really hard in the last year or so to write interesting blog posts, fun tutorials, cool giveaways, and what have you. One of my biggest goals for this blog is to create a feeling of a community where we crafty ladies can inspire each other not only in our creative realm but in other areas of our lives, namely motherhood. I love my Facebook page for all the conversation I get to have directly with you, and I like to post random things and pictures from my life there. I try to respond to comments when I have time (although that definitely is a weakness of mine!)
Contacting Me
Let me discuss really quickly how I respond in case you’ve ever asked me a question and haven’t gotten a response.
Email: I will be able to email you back most of the time. However, sometimes I will read an email with the intention of responding later on, but then I forget. Hey, I’m human! If this has happened to you, please email me again and remind me! I’m usually pretty good about responding to emails.
Leaving questions through comments: I will sometimes reply to your comment through email, but if your email is not linked to your account, I will leave the comment directly under your comment on the blog post.
Facebook questions: I nearly always respond to questions on my FB page pretty quickly. You’ll just have to check back on FB for it. I would dare say that FB is one of the best ways to get ahold of me. (Plus that’s where I post all my shop discount codes so seriously, you should follow me there.)
Twitter: I’ll be honest, Twitter has never been a strong point for me, but I’m working on it!
Formspring: That button on my sidebar that says ‘Ask me a question’ is linked to my Formspring account. I will usually respond to these also very quickly (and I am really not sure if the answer gets emailed to you or if you have to go back and check…could someone answer that for me?) but all my answers also get posted to my FB and Twitter.
Help Me Reach 2000!
As much as I love blogging and connecting with you, blogging also takes a lot of hard work and time. And it definitely helps me stay motivated when I can see progress through pageviews and followers increasing. Which brings me to this…
I have nearly reached 2000 followers (via Google Friend Connect) and every little milestone deserves to be celebrated! (Especially because I forget to celebrate them a lot.) So once that little box on the right with all the friendly faces says 2000, I will have a fun giveaway from my own shop! If you consider yourself a regular reader of my blog, I’d be so grateful if you would just click ‘follow’ on the Google Friend Connect box!
Also, sharing is caring…let me draw your attention to all the lovely Social Media buttons on the top and bottom of each post. If you are particularly smitted by any of my posts, it would be amazing if you would share it, simply by clicking on the Share button of your choice. (My Share buttons are the WP Socializer plugin in case you were curious. I think they’re cool.)
Oh ya…one more thing…
Cuz’ you guys are awesome.
Really.
Did you know that sometimes just reading one comment can totally turn my day around? The support and encouragement you offer is invaluable. Especially on those “I’m a crappy mom” posts. 🙂
Hey Heidi,
What is google friend connect? Is it the same thing as followers? On your right sidebar where it says ‘followers’ there isn’t a list of followers, it is just a line. I’d love to help with the google friend connect but I’ve never understood what it was.
thanks 🙂
Hi Becca! The Google Friend Connect widget is the box under ‘followers’, yes. If you just see a line, refresh the page or try another browser. What browser are you using? I use Google Chrome and mine is working, but I know that sometimes it just doesn’t work. Google Friend Connect is a way of following a blog, just click “Join this site” and then you will become a follower! Thanks so much!
I love your posts on FB, they really do make me laugh and it’s refreshing to see what a great mum you are but that you have exactly the same kiddie problems that we’ve had :O) your tutorials and shop are one of my favourite I’ve got 5 minutes lets have a look stop…. Great blogging and good luck on the 2000 :O)
Thank you so much Pippa! I definitely have some interesting kid moments! Thanks for reading! 🙂
I TOTALLY thought that I’d done that already! Wow! Somehow I missed that, even though I’ve been following you in my reader for a long time. Glad I could click the button and get you one closer! 🙂 Only 20 more to go!
Thanks Shandra! You probably already did follow me in RSS which is TOTALLY awesome but thanks for following me on GFC! You are awesome!
I’m already a follower but good luck!!! 🙂 I love your blog, I like how real you are. Not eveything is about crafts and creativity, sometimes it’s about life. I like that. Makes you seem more real.
Haha, yes I’m definitely real. I couldn’t even pretend to have a perfect little life if I wanted to. Thanks tho!
