Halloween Living Room Decor
I need today to go smoothly, please. After another horrific food-stealing incident on Monday morning (chocolate chips and raw-bacon) and both the TV and the A/C breaking yesterday, I’d like a drama-free day today.
At least my Halloween decor is all done! Here’s a peek at my living room…
Ta da! I am loving the bold graphic design. I don’t think I could handle the intensity of black and white zigzag most of the time, but something about this and the contrast of the orange stripes in the frames just is so appealing to the eye. I love, love, love it.
From my Facebook discussion, I know that a lot of you are sick to death of zigzags and chevron. Once a trend takes over the crafting world and you see it done in every possible way, what else is to be expected? To tell you the truth, I’m getting sick of it myself.
But as I pictured the decor I wanted for my house, the bold graphic design and black and white zigzags just screamed out to me “Make me a quilt!! You already have all the stuff!”
And it’s true, I did have all the stuff! Now that I’ve finally organized my massive fabric stash, I discovered TONS of black and white fabric that I already had. I even pieced some batting scraps together. The only thing I bought for this quilt was 2 yards for backing.
Annnnnddd…I’m done making zig zag quilts for now.
Ahh, I just love the holidays.
What about you? Yay or nay on the chevron?

I still love it! I can see it becoming waaaayyyy to trendy…but it still makes the bold statement! I’m still in!
love the chevron. I dont know why but that pattern just speaks to me.
BTW – totally made your witch hat craft. Love it. Its on my fireplace 🙂
That’s great to hear! Thanks!
I am pretty sure that you need to come to Utah and decorate my house! I am just starting to get my house to take shape and I honestly only have pumpkins lol. Fake. cutable. pumpkins, fabric pumpkins and hopefully soon some real pumpkins lol. I am just starting to get some decorations.
I absolutely LOVE your decor! Great Job!!!
Wow, thank you so much! And don’t undersell pumpkins–I love them! 🙂
Oh, I love chevron still. Yes, the crafting world has blown it up…but I still love it. I just recently purchased the missoni ottoman in black & white chevron from Target(on sale!!!), a few weeks back. Gotta love those that buy quick and return to the store, my score!!! But I love the bold black/white and the orange above, loven’ it! =)
Ooh….!!
YAY, YAY, YAY…!!!
…in case that you won’t need that gorgeous quilt anymore, someday……….
…I mean… …if you will figure out, that your “yay to chevron” has turned into and absolute “nay”…….
…I would take it!!!!!!!!
♥
Haha thanks! Maybe I will give it away if I get sick of it!
🙂 …..if so, please remember me…. 😉 If would pay the postage for it myself… 😉 hehehe
Hi! Stumbled Upon your blog and think I’ll stay for a while and look around! I added you to my reader! As for the chevron…I still can’t get enough…even though it’s everywhere.

Hi! Thanks for following!
Cute! I love your quilt. I don’t know how you do those meandering stitches. All I’ve done so far is make little mug rugs but I am going to try a big quilt one of these days! 🙂
Blessings!
It’s called free motion quilting and it’s super duper easy! You can use a darning foot to do it. This quilt wasn’t that big actually, the big ones do take a long time! Thanks!
Although Chevron can get annoying when it’s all anyone is talking about, your quilt is beautiful and timeless. I love the decor!!! Happy Halloween!
By the way, great job on the CrafterMinds post…I really enjoyed it!!
Thank you! And thanks for reading the Crafterminds article. More to come!
so bold and lovely!
Thank you!
