Easy Thanksgiving Table Decor
Halloween might not be here yet, but I love looking ahead and planning for the other holidays. Sometimes Thanksgiving gets a little overlooked because of all the Christmas frenzy, so I like to tie my Thanksgiving table decor into my generic fall decor, then it feels like it gets used all fall season.
This fall, I made my Thanksgiving Table Decor very natural and neutral. I am in love with the way it turned out though. I started out with a few faux pumpkins from the craft store.
When I first got them, they were dark green. I decided the green wasn’t really for me, so I wanted to paint them. I used DecoArt Chalky finish paint and painted them a light blue and a very light green. Then I dry brushed some cream into the pumpkin grooves to make it look a little more realistic. I also painted the stems with a gold leaf paint.
For little place tags, I thought it would be cute to paint these pinecones in sparkly metallic colors and hand letter each name. I think it gives it a little elegance to a more rustic table setting. It’s super easy to paint pinecones.
How To Make Pine Cone Place Cards
Supplies:
(Some affiliate links, see disclosure)
- DecoArt Dazzling Metallics in bronze, champagne gold, and green
- Black cardstock
- Twine
- Pinecones
- Gold marker
Brush a little paint on each tip with a couple coats. Let it dry. Handy dandy video below:
Then tie on a name card with some twine. I just hand wrote the names with metallic marker. And done! When it comes to something like place cards, I can’t be bothered with something complicated or even something that requires me hooking my computer up to a printer! So this cute idea hit the spot and was EASY cheesy.
